A family practice, for two generations.
Dr. Konrad Filutowski opened the Filutowski Eye Institute in 1990 with one employee. More than 36 years and 225,000 Central Florida patients later, it is a multi-location practice still run by the same family, and still led by the surgeon whose name is on the door.
- Founded in 1990 in Central Florida
- 130+ team members across three offices
- 225,000+ Central Floridians cared for
- Two generations of board-certified surgeons
It began as a single practice with one employee. It grew because patients kept sending their families.
Dr. Konrad Filutowski founded the institute in 1990 and built it one patient at a time. What started as a single office is now a multi-physician, multi-location practice with more than 130 team members. The offices have expanded, the surgical technology has advanced, and the staff has grown. What has not changed is who runs it: the Filutowski family, led by its founder.
Today Dr. Konrad Filutowski is joined by his son Dr. Oliver Filutowski, a board-certified ophthalmologist, and by another son, Sebastian Filutowski, who serves as practice administrator. He still performs surgery every week and reviews the practice's most complex cases.
Over three decades, one practice.

Our surgical philosophy: the safest, most precise, and least invasive treatment that achieves the best long-term outcome, chosen for the individual patient.
In practice, that means the recommendation is built around your eyes, not around a single procedure. There are five ways to correct vision surgically, and LASIK is only one of them. Our doctors walk you through which fits your eyes, your age, and your goals, and every consultation is reviewed by a board-certified ophthalmologist.
Independent, and meant to stay that way.
- Family-owned and physician-led, not investor-backed
- The full range of vision correction, from LASIK to lens implants
- Premium cataract options including the Light Adjustable Lens
- A referral network built with local doctors over three decades
