Insurance & Financing

Clear on cost, before you commit.

Some procedures are covered by insurance and some are elective, and we tell you which is which up front. For elective surgery, 0% financing keeps it manageable, and our pricing is transparent so there are no surprises.

The Basics
Covered or financed
Most patients have a workable path either way.
  • Cataract surgery: covered by Medicare and most plans
  • Elective vision correction: 0% financing available
  • HSA and FSA funds accepted
  • Transparent, per-eye pricing

The simplest way to think about it: medically necessary care is billed to insurance, and elective vision correction is not.

Covered by insurance. Cataract surgery is covered by Medicare and most major plans, including the surgeon and surgical-center fees for standard treatment. Medical eye care, like comprehensive eye exams and glaucoma treatment, is also billed to insurance, and we are in-network with most major medical plans.

Elective, paid out of pocket. Laser vision correction (LASIK, SMILE, PRK) and lens-based correction (EVO ICL, Refractive Lens Exchange) are elective, so they are generally not covered. The same is true of premium lens upgrades during cataract surgery. That is where financing comes in.

0% financing, not just a discount.

Qualified patients spread the cost over up to two years at no interest, so the decision is about your eyes, not one large payment.

CareCredit

Interest-free plans of 6 or 24 months for qualified patients, with longer 36 and 48 month terms available. A quick application gives an answer before you schedule.

HSA & FSA

Health savings and flexible spending funds can be applied to elective procedures, which effectively pays with pre-tax dollars.

We publish our prices. LASIK is $2,595 per eye, all-inclusive, and every procedure is quoted clearly at your consultation.

Laser vision correction starts lower than lens-based procedures because it does not use a premium implant. For patients over 40, a lens-based procedure often costs more up front but lasts longer, since laser correction would not hold as the eye keeps changing. See how the options and prices compare, then we confirm your exact price at the exam.
